The Multi Agency Response to Serious and Organised Crime (MARSOC) work alongside partners and probation to investigate and prosecute top tier SOC nominals as a partnership approach.

These partners include HM Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS), HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), National Crime Agency (NCA) and North East Counter Terrorism Unit (NECTU).

MARSOC have remit for those who are serving a custodial prison sentence, in the community under the supervision of probation or those affecting the prison estate.

The MARSOC team also have responsibility for investigating the most serious Prison Service Counter Corruption investigations.

The team work with the North East Reginal Prison Intel Unit (NERPIU) and investigate a wide range of offences such as Possession With Intent to Supply (PWITS), Money Laundering and Misconduct in a public office to name a few.​​​​​​​
