The finalists for The National Cyber Awards 2020 were released on Friday 6th March 2020 and the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Cyber Crime Unit are delighted to announce that they have been nominated for 5 awards for the Matrix challenge 2020 and 3 individual awards for DCI Tim Ingle, DS Shelton Newhsam and CE Lilian Curtis.

We are delighted that the Matrix Challenge is getting national recognition for al the work put in to making it the most impactive cyber challenge helping to educate young people nationally. More information about the challenge can be found here - matrix challenge.

The YHROCU are finalists in the following categories :-

  • The Innovation in Cyber Award 2020
  • The Cyber Policing Team of the Year 2020
  • The Law Enforcement Cyber Product of the Year 2020
  • The NPCC Cyber Award 2020
  • The Cyber Awareness Award 2020

The unit also has 3 individuals nominated for individual awards :-

  • Lili Curtis - Cyber Student of The Year 2020
  • Shelton Newsham - The Cyber Policing Individual of The Year Award 2020
  • Tim Ingle - The Cyber Policing Individual of The Year Award 2020
