The Operations Unit's primary objective is to target, tackle, dismantle and prosecute Organised Crime Groups (OCGs) impacting on the four YHROCU counties.

Utilising traditional policing methods in conjunction with covert tactics the team investigate OCGs who impact region wide and are active in varying crime types including firearm supply, human trafficking, drug trafficking, child sexual abuse and exploitation/child criminal exploitation, county lines offending, and offences committed online.

The Operations Unit is staffed by police officers and support staff from the four YHROCU forces. The unit works extensively with the forty-eight police forces across the United Kingdom, the National Crime Agency, other specialist organisations/departments, partner agencies and overseas law enforcement agencies to relentlessly disrupt organised crime and protect the communities of the Yorkshire and the Humber Region.
